Untreated orthopedic problems – club feet, bowed legs, broken bones – force children and adults to adapt as best they can. Some walk on the sides of their feet. Some walk on their ankle bones. Some don’t walk at all. Sadly, for those in a developing country who suffer with an orthopedic defect or injury, they will not only have trouble going places physically, but figuratively as well. Mercy Ships orthopedic surgeries and physical rehabilitation allow them to walk, skip, jump, run, play, dance, work…and laugh.
